Old Poetry

Recently, my therapist (T) asked me to write a poem about my mother (another issue for another post). In doing so, I rediscovered my old poetry, written in my mid- to late-teens. I gave T a selection of this old poetry and it led to a very interesting discussion about my past, poetry and he asked me to restart my poetry writing, which I have since done. For now, I’m going to upload some of my older poems as context for my newer ones, and also because I’m still rather happy with them.

In each post, I’ll endeavour to give a concise yet informative introduction to each poem, and perhaps, where relevant, a short note discussing what can be seen about my teenage life from each.
